France-Soir is that rare Melbourne spot that manages to be completely chaotic and effortlessly cool at the same time, feeling like a slice of Paris that’s been dropped right onto Toorak Road. The snails are a total garlic-heavy delight that you'll be scraping out of the shell, and the scallops with that saffron sauce provide a really bright, silky break from the richer dishes. The steak tartare is consistently one of the best in the city, perfectly balanced and punchy enough to stand up to their massive wine list. It’s loud and cramped, but you're having too much fun to care.
